Hoping you can help me find NORMA PRITCHARD. On May 1, 1965 I was a crew member aboard the U.S.S VANCOUVER LPD-2 when we visited Sydney & Melbourne for the CORAL SEA CELEBRATION. The ship was open to the public and I met a girl named NORMA PRITCHARD who visited the ship the first day we were in port. We spent all our time together in Sydney, and when the ship moved to Melbourne on May 12, Norma took the train to be visit with me when I was off duty. We had plans to get together after I got out of the Navy, but going back to Vietnam changed everything, and by the time I got out of the Navy and back to the states to get discharged I had lost all the contact info when I lost a duffle bag with all my personal stuff in it. I never met Norma`s family, and don't remember her talking about the area she grew up in, but I do remember she was from a suburb of Sydney, and she would be in her late 60s or early 70s now. I have been looking on the internet for the last 20 years, but just haven't had any luck. Thought I had found her a couple of times, but after I don't remember how many calls to Sydney from the U.S. I realized I was looking for a needle in a haystack. I had promised her in 1965 that I would be back, but that never happened, and even after all these years it bothers me that I did not keep my word. I do not want to interrupt her life or cause any problems for her or her family. I would like for her to know that I still think about her, and wonder how she is doing. I know this is a very long shot, But if you recognize her face or her name, or know of other people Pritchard who might help me in finding her please pass it on. Stranger things have happened. My name is Donn Stoffer and thank you for your help.
